Advanced Diploma in Acupuncture (2009)
Certificate IV in Traditional Chinese Medicine Remedial Massage (An Mo Tui Na)(2007)

Over 18 years of experience treating patients.

Samantha, your Acupuncturist, has over 16 years of experience as an Acupuncturist, from a Dental Assistant/Practice Manager background in the Brisbane Health Industry. Samantha's involvement with Martial arts for her fitness generated an interest and understanding of Qi (chi) and the flow of movement and energy. This led her to search for further knowledge of the theory behind the practice leading to Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Prior to martial arts Sam played years of Netball.

She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science (Acupuncture) at Endeavour College of Natural Health (formerly Australian College of Natural Medicine) which is a four-year Health Science Degree consisting of both Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine subjects. She is a current member of The Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and is also a Registered Acupuncturist with The Chinese Medicine Registration Board. (AHPRA) Samantha also holds a blue card.

A Holistic Approach to Treatment

The Intricacies of Acupuncture has become a passion for Dr Samantha (Registered Acupuncturist), and she thrives on unravelling each and every condition right back to the root cause. Samantha’s special interests are Pain and Sport injuries, Women and young women’s health and all aspects of fertility in a Preparatory role or in a supporting role in conjunction with Primary Medical Practitioners. Along with Emotional health which from a Chinese Medicine perspective may be co-contributor to other imbalances.

The Musculoskeletal system, sports injuries, or general aches and pains originated from her many years of Netball to Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai , Qigong and a brief time at Boxing. As Samantha moved up to higher belts at TKD, she decided she wanted to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture. Her Ideal was to have a support system that aligned with Martial Arts training, however, Acupuncture studies took over and time for training went by the wayside, as a high achiever, Samantha needed to put in her all with 7 courses a semester. Meanwhile she missed her Martial Arts days. After graduation, she focused on building her business until she returned to Muay Thai. Now she walks or practices Qigong for wellness.

Samantha likes to utilise an array of Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic tools and patterns, to form a holistic approach to treatment. Samantha welcomes when the need presents to work with other health practitioners to create a holistic care plan for her clients. “She loves a challenge, so any signs and symptoms you present”, she will greet you with plenty of enthusiasm as she strives to find beneficial solutions. “A little secret about Sam is that she is needle phobic; however, because of how fine and solid acupuncture needles are, she even uses them on herself.” She likes to take a gentler approach.
